J12 SIPP I - Cutover Schedule and Impacts

July 7, 2008

The SIPP I MD/DE/DCMA Part B workloads will transition (or cutover) from TrailBlazer to Highmark Medicare Services beginning on Friday, July 11, 2008.  During this cutover weekend, Highmark Medicare Services will transition the MD/DE/DCMA Part B operation, pending and in-process workloads (including claims, enrollment applications, appeals, and written inquiries), and records from TrailBlazer to Highmark Medicare Services from Friday, July 11, 2008 through Monday, July 14, 2008.

Regardless of the date of service, all processing and customer services will be handled by Highmark Medicare Services as the J12 MAC based upon the 7/11/2008, cutover date. TrailBlazer will transfer all pending and in-process operations and workloads to Highmark Medicare Services at that time.

The following information is to communicate implementation activities for the cutover weekend of 7/11/2008 – 7/14/2008, including any service interruptions and outages, so that you can properly prepare for it.

“Dark Days” from July 11, 2008 - July 14, 2008
A “dark day” is defined as a day during the regular work week (Monday – Friday) in which the Medicare claims processing system is not available for normal business operations.  There is no online access, current claim information cannot be provided (e.g., via IVR or Provider Contact Center), and claims cannot be processed.

In order to complete the transition of the MD/DE/DCMA Part B workload, both TrailBlazer and Highmark Medicare Services will need to observe system “dark days”.
