The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) needs to change the Contractor Identification (ID) numbers (a.k.a.,Payer ID) used for the J12 MAC Part A workload for Pennsylvania, Maryland and the District of Columbia. Part A claims for these locales will be processed by the J12 MAC using the Contractor ID number shown below effective with claims received after 4:00 PM EDT on August 1, 2008.
The new J12 Contractor ID (Payer ID) must be reported in the ISA08, GS03, and 1000B NM109 element of the ANSI ASC X12N 837I/276 EDI transactions starting after 4:00PM EDT on August 1, 2008. The new J12 Contractor ID (Payer ID) will be returned in the ANSI ASC X12N 835/277 EDI transaction, except for the Maryland/DC 835 Electronic Remittance Advice (ERA). Please refer to the article on page 3 of the July 2008 EDI Transition News for details on the Roll-Up Contractor ID Number that will be returned in the Maryland/DC 835 ERA.
